Makes 2 dozen<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Ingredients<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • \n

    6 cups desiccated coconut<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    2 cups cake flour<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    8 cups oats<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    3 cups white sugar<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    1 tbsp salt<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    20 ml cinnamon<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    500g butter<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    60 ml syrup<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    20 ml bicarb<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    \u00bd cup milk<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Method<\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. Preheat the oven to 180C. Spray and cook a large oven tray.<\/li>\n
    2. In a microwave proof bowl melt the butter and syrup together. Set aside<\/li>\n
    3. Combine all the dry ingredients except the bicarbonate of soda and mix well<\/li>\n
    4. Mix the bicarb and milk together, and add to the butter and syrup mixture.<\/li>\n
    5. Mix the butter mixture with the dry ingredients, and mix well through<\/li>\n
    6. Press out on a sprayed baking tray.<\/li>\n
    7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown<\/li>\n
    8. Cut in squares and let cool. Loosen the squares and place them on another baking tray. Dry out in the oven at 50-100C for 3-6 hours or until hard.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
